Session One: The First Class Meeting

  • Clarify course goals and expectations
  • Break the ice between students effectively
  • Gather critical information
  • Proactively learn and use students' names
  • Whet students' appetites for course material
  • Solicit feedback from students
  • Reassure students of the value of the course

Session Two: Following up the First Class Meeting
(1.5 - 2 hours)

  • Review, analyze feedback
  • Assimilate information from Student Profiles
  • Communicate prior to second class meeting
  • Adjust your strategies if appropriate
  • Under-promise, over-deliver
  • Conclusion/debrief/questions
